The trek cordially commences from Pokhara, which in turn is the lowest altitude seen during the trek, which stands at 820 meters. As the trek progresses, you can expect to see a rise in altitude of up to 3810m at Lo Manthang. However, the highest point on the trek is at the top of Marang La Pass at 4230 meters. The initial days of the trek need a relatively less walk whereas the middle and final parts include heavy walking. The trail is completely off road at some parts and you have to walk through heavy sands. It is highly advised to take the trek in the months of autumn and spring.
